The design combines a threaded housing around a spherical plain bearing or race so the joint can transmit movement through a compact male- or female-thread interface. Select the bore, thread, race, misalignment, load direction, and operating environment for the complete assembly rather than choosing by nominal size alone.
Carbon-steel rod ends provide an adjustable articulated connection for control arms, tie rods, sway-bar links, and other force-transmitting members. Check radial load, angular travel, thread engagement, and race design before use.
